Si Ni San 
English Name: Powder for Treating Cold Limbs.
Category: Harmonising.
Functions: To regulate and harmonise the Liver and Spleen. It moves Qi, smooths/spreads Liver Qi, benefits the Spleen and releases Heat.
Indications: Si Ni San is indicated for syndromes of disharmony between Liver and Spleen, which are marked by hypochondriac distension and fullness along with epigastric and abdominal pain. It is applicable in the treatment of chronic hepatitis, gastric ulcers, gastritis and gastrointestinal neurosis amongst other diseases.
Tongue and Pulse: The tongue is red with a whitish or yellowish coating, and the pulse is wiry/taut.
Ingredients:
- Zhi Gan Cao [Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparatae] – 6 to 9g
- Zhi Shi [Fructus Aurantii Immaturus] – 9 to 12g
- Chai Hu [Radix Bupleuri] – 9 to 12g
- Bai Shao Yao [Radix Paeoniae Alba] – 9 to 12g
Cautions and Contra-Indications: Contra-indicated for use in patients with cold limbs due to excess Cold or Yang deficiency.
