Bai Xian Pi (Cortex Dictamni) is the root bark of Chinese Dittany. After harvesting, the roots are cleaned and sun dried. The bark is then removed and used in its crude form.

Properties and Functions: Bai Xian Pi is bitter in flavour and cold in nature. Its main functions are clearing Heat and Damp-Heat. It also works to:
- Resolve toxins.
- Expel Wind.
- Alleviate itching.
Indications: It is used clinically for Wind-Heat and Wind-Damp type sores, carbuncles and rashes characterised by pus or yellowish discharge. This may also include moist skin, Damp-Heat jaundice or painful obstruction syndrome. Additionally it is used in the treatment of vaginal pruritus with discharge.
Dosage: 4 – 9g
