Squid is salty and moderate and neutral in nature. Squid is high in protein and good for energy, but can be difficult to digest if you have a weak digestive system. Squid is high in cholesterol, and also purin which can cause problems with gout. Seafood should always be eaten as fresh as possible because if kept too long seafood becomes rich in ammonium nitrates which will not only cause food poisoning but may cause cancer in the long run if eaten regurlarly.
