On the 9th and 10th of November, Professor Song Ke attended the 1st World Congress of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cascais, Portugal.

The recent conference brought together TCM practitioners and experts from around the world, including Portugal, the UK and Brazil. It provided another fantastic opportunity for creating new links between practitioners and institutions. It also allowed attendees to share knowledge and experiences.

Professor Ke proudly represented Asante Academy and gave a talk on TCM to over 600 assembled guests. Themes discussed included Acupuncture and TCM for illness prevention. The future use of new technologies and ideas in TCM was also raised.

Conferences such as these afford practitioners, teachers and manufacturers vital opportunites to exchange ideas and build new partnerships. Such efforts can on the whole only be positive, and will ultimately strengthen both local and global Chinese Medicine communities.

It is our hope that through such events, we can expand our collective knowledge and share it with all people connected with Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. Hopefully, it will also allow for the collaboration of future reasearch and studies of Chinese medicine. This should be a shared goal allowing us to bring TCM and acupuncture theory and research firmly into the 21st Century.
