The Official Opening Ceremony of Asanté Academy‘s new site in Highgate on Monday, 6th January 2014, was a great success!
Madam Pinghua Hu, the Chinese Ambassador Liu’s wife, came in person and congratulated, on behalf of her husband, on what Asanté Academy has achieved as the leading academy of Chinese Medicine in the UK and Prof Ke’s long outstanding work and expertise in Chinese medicine:
“Asanté Academy is one of the good examples of the best Chinese Medicine which can be well mixed with British culture from its past 14 years’ good work with universities and hospitals. Chinese medicine is our national treasure and it has been serving our people for thousands of years“.
Specially invited guests gave short speeches as well.
Dr Celia Bell, Head of Department of Natural Sciences, Middlesex University said that “our university has had a very successful cooperation with the Asanté Academy for the past 14 years in teaching Chinese Medicine and we would like to continue this good relationship and work together for years to come”.
Dr Amali Lokugamage, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Whittington Hospital: “our joint Maternity Acupuncture Service at the Whittington Hospital is the only unique kind in the UK for the past 8 years, and proved very popular”.
Dr Anthony Ordman, Consultant in Pain Medicine, Royal Free Hospital told the audience in his speech “that for the past few years we have been working with Asanté Academy to provide acupuncture service at Royal Free Hospital and the result was very good. The patients have benefited greatly from the service, I’m very happy, although I don’t know how acupuncture works. We still want to continue this cooperation”.
Prof Ke gave a speech about Chinese tea and tea culture and what kind of teas people should drink and how to drink according to the individual’s health.
