Pork

Pork is sweet and slightly salty and neutral in nature. Pork meat nourishes weakness, benefits the blood and qi. People suffering from hypertension and obesity should avoid pork fat. Pork meat is good for deficient energy, blood deficiency, poor appetite, immune system problems Pork meat should of course be lean and not fatty when eaten.

Because pork is neutral, how it is cooked will greatly affect its nature. If roasted or grilled or barbecued it becomes hot and the benefits will disapear. Pork is best stewed, boiled, steamed or gently stir fried without too much oil.
